FSFC703 - Aerial Operations

This State approved 40-hour course consists of both classroom and hands-on field exercises. The curriculum provides students with a thorough, in-depth understanding for the safe and efficient operation of aerial apparatus. The course curriculum can be designed around the requirements of the requesting fire department.

FFP1301 - Fire Service Hydraulics

This curriculum focuses on the methods of delivering water to nozzles and apparatus at safe and effective pressures. Students will learn the principles of pressure, study the behavior of water when it is at rest or in motion, and will learn several basic math formulas, which are needed to produce effective fire streams.

FFP1302 - Fire Apparatus Operation

This 40-hour curriculum offers students a hands-on perspective of fire apparatus and fire pumps which includes numerous simulated fireground evolutions that provide each student with realistic pump operator training.

Forcible Entry

Great for both veteran and rookie Firefighters, this is a no frills “meat and potatoes” class. Students get their hands on the tools right away and learn the most current and proven forcible entry techniques. Using just the ax and halligan, students gain confidence through practicing the skills needed to effectively force the most common doors.

Standpipe Operations

This 8-hour course consists of both classroom and field exercises with a focus on establishing a water supply and supplying the FDC in a timely manner and at the proper pressures to produce effective fire streams.

Brush Truck Orientation

Emphasis is placed on learning how to read terrain, tips for off-road driving, how to avoid getting mired, recovery of brush trucks, basic pumping and drafting, float a pump operations and foam operations are covered in this 8-hour curriculum.

Foam Operations

The 6-hour curriculum provides students with an in-depth look at the properties of foam used in today’s fire service and the systems used to deliver it. The majority of this course involves classroom activities including numerous hands-on demonstrations that correspond with a PowerPoint presentation.

Gauges Don't Lie

Journey to the "technological" side and look at firefighting through the eyes of science! Students participate in demonstrations and witness the expansion of steel when heated, determine the strongest way to butt a ladder, learn to maximize torque using a halligan and so much more!

Drafting Fundamentals

In a perfect world, drafting is a relatively simple operation, yet firefighters realize that during realistic fireground operations, mechanical mishaps and/or unskilled pump operators can produce dangerous results.

E.V.O.C.

NFPA recommends E.V.O.C. training be completed at least every 3-years. In addition, the Florida State Fire Marshal's Office requires operators to have classroom and behind the wheel training in a vehicle of the same size, type and class as the emergency vehicle operator will be assigned to operate.
